Saint all set for Saturday night!

George 'The Saint' Groves is all set to defend his WBA Super World title against fellow Brit Chris Eubank Jr at the Manchester Arena this Saturday night, February 17th in the semi-final of the inaugural World Boxing Super Series.

Both fighters impressed in their first outings in the competition with Eubank Jr travelling to Germany to defeat Turkey’s Avni Yildirim in early October, whilst Groves stopped previously unbeaten Jamie Cox inside four rounds at Wembley Arena a week later.

The pair will now face each other on Saturday night with Manchester playing host to the mouthwatering clash. Groves looked extremely sharp at the public workout on Tuesday and is full of confidence ahead of of the second defence of his world title belt.

"I am in the form of my life", said Groves.

"Certainly in the best shape of my career, and fully prepared to go out and retain my world title in style.

“I’m world champion and I want to continue to be. I’ve sacrificed a lot, I’ve been through some terrible times to get to where I am now. Desire is one thing that I know I’ve always had in abundance. I’ve been able to pick myself up from the lowest of points to get back to the top.

“Junior is flapping already, he is a cliche, he is a gimmick. I’ve been here, I’ve done this many, many times. This is just another step along my journey.”

The fight will be shown live on ITV Box Office HERE
